Homer Family Reunion-Part 1

Homer Reunion

Day 1

After such long abscences it is so much fun to reunite. The cousins had fun being silly. The adults enjoyed great conversations. It is nearly impossible to break apart my father and Caleb.....they could talk non-stop for hours. Everyone helped prepare a super dinner while the kids played croquet. We ended the night with a fun game of charades. One of the highlights was when Granny came out pretending to be a dog. The kids couldn't help but join in.

Look out Tiger; There is a new kid in town....

The Fourth of July

One of my favorite family traditions is the Hot Ait Balloon Festival. It was extra fun this year to watch Brigham and Kaiya's excitement about the balloons taking off. It is a great start to our Fourth of July festivites.
If you know me well, you know I am not a big fan of crowds. I do my best to avoid them; however, this place is very crowded and I wouldn't have it any other way. During this festival the crowds of people bring an extra level of excitement and anticipation as we all wait for the balloons to lift off.

After the balloons have taken off we leave to eat breakfast. This year we went to Cracker Barrel (one of my favorite restaurants). I love the food, gift shop, and of course those rocking chairs. I am going to have to get me one someday. Caleb chose the fried catfish for breakfast-Yummy! He liked it. Of course, the best part as always is just spending time with family.

I love this picture of the baby cousins watching McKray and Bridger play checkers. We intended to go to the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band concert that evening, but unfortunately it was sold out. BUMMER! We did get to watch some fireworks which were especially entertaining because of Brigham and Kaiya. With each firwork they would laugh or giggle or scream out loud for joy. They loved them. Even the people sitting around us turned to smiled/laughed at the animated little children enjoying the show. It had been almost ten years since I have attended a live fireworks show. I had forgotten how spectacular they are.
